Satake frying pan in carbon steel from Satake is made in hammered carbon steel with a handle in stainless steel. A carbon steel pan that lasts a lifetime if cared for properly. The pan is pre-treated and does not need to be seasoned. The carbon steel withstands high temperatures and provides a really fine frying surface. Carbon steel pans are excellent for all sorts of frying – vegetables, fish & meat. It withstands oven temperatures up to 250°C and has similar properties as cast iron but with significantly lower weight. They are very thin and the carbon steel moves during heating and cooling, it is natural and normal for pans to warp slightly. This does not affect their excellent properties.
