The Hobgoblin Moomin plate is part of the spring collection 2018 from Moomin Arabia, with images taken from Tove Jansson's popular stories about Moomin and his friends. This season the image is taken from the book, 'Finn Family Moomintroll', which was released in 1948 and takes place during a magical summer in Moominvalley. This image depicts the Hobgoblin as he rides on his black panther over the purple sky in search of jewels. Specifically, he searches for a unique ruby known as the King's Ruby. The Hobgoblin lives at the end of the world in a house with no doors or windows – confirming his image as a mysterious man with a magical hat. Dramatically wonderful!
