The Siirtolapuutarha coffee cup 20 cl is part of the ever-popular Siirtolapuutarha range by Marimekko. The cup itself was designed by Sami Ruotslainen with a design by Maija Louekari. Marimekko is known for giving its products and collections fun Finnish names that any non-Finn will scramble to pronounce. When translated, however, they do shed light onto what the colorful and bold designs were inspired by. Siirtolapuurtarha, for instance, means garden colony. The wonderful collection was inspired by the abundance of lovely flowers and plants in a typical Finnish garden colony.
