The Siirtolapuutarha tea mug was designed by Sami Ruotsalainen for the Finnish brand Marimekko. The Siirtolapuutarha pattern itself was designed by Maija Louekari and has become a popular pattern in the Marimekko product range. The name Siirtolapuutarha is Finnish and means “Garden colony allotment”, which is exactly what the design was inspired by.
